About

My name is Grant and I run Reconditorium, a small software security consultancy.
Previously, I was a Researcher at NowSecure working on SAST & DAST products, and before that I was the Mobile Security Practice Director at Synopsys.
I’ve spent a number of years working in application security, with a focus on mobile security – pentesting, code review, binary & runtime hardening, RASP evaluation, and building static and dynamic analysis tooling. Some of my work has appeared in publications such as the Mobile App Hackers Handbook and iOS forensics.
I also collaborated with some friends on Touch Unlock, an app that let you unlock your Mac with your iPhone using Touch ID, until Apple added Touch ID sensors to Macs.
I studied Ethical Hacking & Countermeasures at Abertay University, Scotland. During my time there, I worked as a summer intern at NCR Corporation, performing security testing on Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and related software.
